About this site:

Albatuna.com is designed to provide the general public with information about Omega-3 rich Pacific troll-caught albacore tuna, to explain the differences between troll-caught and the other more common tunas, offer a range of recipes and cooking tips, and help people to find troll-caught albacore at seafood counters and markets, in restaurants, by mail order, and online.

Originally designed and developed by Fisheries Consultant Tana McHale, this website is sponsored by the American Fishermen's Research Foundation (AFRF) and the Western Fishboat Owners Association (WFOA).

Founded in 1971, AFRF is dedicated to aiding, encouraging, promoting, and supporting science and education related to Pacific albacore tuna. AFRF receives $20 for each ton of albacore landed by WFOA members; the funds are used to finance biological studies, data collection programs, and other scientific projects to help ensure the long-term health of Pacific albacore populations.
